I tried this out and it had an immediate effect, unfortunately in the wrong direction my FPS went from averaging 40-45 right down to 20. Sorry only just seen this. Afraid not as the FXS version was designed to be VC driven and that functionality did not exist properly in FS2004. There was an early 2D cockpit available for that though

Will also detect surface vessels as long as they are AI and not just scenery objects
