Any thoughts anyone ? - I'm told that the floats were almost certainly polished aluminium, not orange. A photo I have seems to suggest that, but because it's in B/W. it's difficult to be sure. Oh, and they're too short - in hand - poly-pushing.
Cheers

Auster Walks on Water
Adding floats to the Antarctic T.7 turned out to be a quicker job than I'd anticipated. :dancer: So here's a shot of the aircraft bobbing up and down on 'The Pond'. The model has now gone off to have its config file tweaked ,so should'nt be long before I can issue it at the Pond. Highlights include ...

Re: new Auster at the pond
Relax Fodda - you're eyesight is fine  OTOH my fingers/ keyboard are sometimes slower than my brain and my eyes see what they expect to see rather than what is. So yes, I confess - this is the first time I've noticed or had my attention drawn to my 'deliberate mistake' - yup - no 'C' mea c...

Re: new Auster at the pond
Phew :$ thanks for the quick reply Roger - I can cross that one off my list. Well, Peter - my wife is of similar mind - although she likes me 'playing' on the computer because it keeps me occupied (I'm long out of gainful employment). She just happened by as I was loading up the video and her natura...

Re: new Auster at the pond
Roger - is the aircraft in flight - or does it sit above the surface in FSX ? - you'll have to modify the contact-point settings I'm afraid if it levitates or step out carefully :) . Peter - really enjoyed your video - even my wife watched it. She said 'it looks real' - 'what, my new Auster ? ' I as...

Re: new Auster at the pond
I hope no-one's going to look for a tell-tale puff of smoke from somewhere on the AOP9 aircraft when I get around to building it :worried: cos I don't know where it would come from (or how to do it ). I've just found out that the T6 for the Antartic was fitted with a cartridge starter - they probabl...

Re: new Auster at the pond
Cartridge starter on the AOP9 ? - no problems Martin - search for G-BKVK's cockpit photo and you'll see the said object on the far left just under the panel - ties in with the Pilots Notes. As for you 'Swanoir' - that's my large, very well built son there in the cockpit - I'll tell him what you said....

Re: new Auster at the pond
Thanks Ian - I just knew somebody here would solve the mystery of the kit colour. However, as agreed by others, all the pix of the real aircraft show it in a rather fetching shade of orange - so 'case-closed' .

Re: new Auster at the pond
Can't remember back through the decades as to what colour Airfix recommended painting their Auster. However, it was(is) not unknown for them to offer their mouldings in quite unsuitable colours - especially when they are to be painted white :-( The three aircraft are now (just) being sent to 'the po...
