Re: The First Flight Sim I Ever Had
Mine was a helicopter sim/game on the old PCW8512. It was the Bees knees at that time until I got rich and could afford a real PC with 80MB of HD. My PC flight sim was ATP - I think that's what it was called - and a multi-aircraft sim fronted by Chuck Yeager. From then on I seem to have been chasing...

Re: PC Specialist
I have bought my last 3 PCs from PC Specialists (2 for me + 1 for swmbowq) and have had excellent service. In all cases they built up to my specifications and advised me if I was going 'overspec' and in danger of :welldone: spending too much on bells and whistles I didn't need. Build quality is good...

Re: New Set of Wheels
I got myself a Pride Hurricane (max 8mph) in '96 so I could get out of the garden and see the countryside. Best thing I ever did, I still have it and it is on it's 3rd set of betteries and still going strong. At the same time I was bought a TGA (max 4 mph) shopping scooter that broke up into bits fo...

Re: Another FSX "update" of DM's BAC 1-11
Got it, tried it, junked it. The only difference to the original that I can see is that he has put in thumbnails so that the aircraft can be seen in the FSX Directory. The panel is unchanged since it is referred to DMs original and the smoke is unchanged. In other words a pointless excercise. I have...

Re: The Vicar's Salary
I've sent a copy of this to my brother - a vicar. Should get me a few more places nearer to the hot place.
Brilliant!

Re: New Computer!!
With cash being tighter than ever these days has anyone had a look at refurbished PCs? I have purchased refurbished laptops for the grandchildren twice over the last four years and they come with guarantees and in 'as new' condition and we have not had a single problem with them. I know that PC Worl...

Re: Help with FSX Gold install please
I, too, was surprised to find that FSX Gold and Acc came as two separate installs with their own security codes. Best to install FSX and then run it, then exit and install the Acceleration pack. In an ideal world it is best to install FSX and/or FS9 on their own hard drive so that all the main files...

Thank you guys.
I'm reloading my flightsim stuff on my new PC at the mo and getting even more grey hair than I need still it should be worth it in the end.
Anyway, another year gone and time is going by too fast by far.

Re: The Green Thing
Ahh yes, the good old days. Then: We lived on a farm on the edge of the Clent Hills South of Birmingham and our summer holidays consisted of going over the hills with carrier bags - paper not plastic - to fill up with discarded pop or beer bottles left by the Brummies on day trips to the country. We...
