Hi BT,

Re the FDE, I would start with the default DC-3 and patch in some new engines and props from an appropriate turboprop. Bear in mind you have to modify the aircraft.cfg file and the .air file.

If you get really lost, give me a shout.

Regards,

Brian

Hi Tekman,

Nice job  If you need any help with the FDE, drop me a line. Things like the smoke should be no problem to sort out.

Hi All,

Thanks for the encouraging comments

I've done a bit of tidying-up and updated the textures to the Version 2 model. Uploaded this am (NAM104U.zip) so should be available as above soon.

Hi Martin, I will take another look at the wing drop/rise issue but I can't promise anything. I was having a bit of trouble managing the stall characteristics so it might not be as simple as I first thought  I will be interested to see the results of your liaison with Mr Ito although I wish h...

Hi Martin, I had a chat with my friend at the weekend and we decided that the dihedral effect was a touch too strong so I have reduced it a bit. Our over-riding memory of the Austers we flew was the large amount of adverse yaw encountered. As you say, all rudder. I had a look at ways to get an occas...

No worries Martin  I am sure the answer can wait. I have a fellow ex-pilot with some Auster experience staying with me at the weekend so I will pick his brains as well  In the meantime, I will knock up an effects file that makes the smoke come out of the exhaust pipe on start-up - rathe...

Hi Dave, I might have guessed!  Hi Martin, Thanks for the info on the lights. I'll suppress them so that they don't show but anyone who wants them for a more modern look can resurrect them fairly easily. Standing by for your verdict on the dihedral effect. I know DB will be too! Re...

Hi Martin, Thanks for the comments on my files. I am glad that you like the result   I would appreciate a comment on the tendency for her to be self-leveling in roll - ie: dihedral effect - I think (from a bit of Auster flying about 40 years ago) that there may still be a bit too much....

Hi Leif, TVM for the comments. I did not start again from scratch but modified Mr Ito's files so I think we will always have a compromise  I also built the FDE to the PNs which may give a bit better performance than Martin is getting now. I will hang on for any comments Martin may have and th...
