Is the Sea Vixen classed as supersonic I wonder? If so then that could be classed similarly to this UAV, although the D4 was never flown unmanned.

But....although the cowl is made by the same supplier, do we know if the latches are the same design? Boeing have their own patent for latches, so presumably they would specify those?

If thats the case Chris I'm very surprised that they have gone on so long without a redesign. It could be that the French want to do it differently, but whats wrong with the old fashioned 'King' type latches that do have a secondary tab for locking?

Ian, Sorry to hear of your news, but it goes to show how one can be unlucky with ones genes. I'm 5 years over my allotted time, have worked with asbestos loaded brake shoes in my youth, fitted asbestos lagging around fuel transfer pipes on Valiants in the 50's, & fitted old used asbestos roofing...

I think the comms relay would have to be via a satellite, as Reapers etc are. I also believe Reapers (or similar) have been flown out of Llanbedr & BAe have flown their 'stealth' model out of Warton. The technology would appear to be in the signal loss safety system to get it to land at a chosen...
