Re: New Heathrow Scenery...

Hi Peter, It's nice scenery, you'll feel like you've never retired!!!
BTW, I bet at 10fps, FSX appears to visually run smoothly - remember FS98 when you were told you had 40+fps, and it ran like a slide show!

Re: New Heathrow Scenery...

Thanks Peter,

I'm going to hold off for the release of Gary Summons LHR Xtreme scenery, it should be imminent, but the Aerosoft looks excellent too. Spoiled for choice now.

Re: Widescreen monitors

Hi AndyG Thanks for the brilliant suggestion, I never thought of resizing and filling the gap!!! Widescreen monitors

I've recently upgraded to widescreen and I'm finding (surprise :doho:) that I'm mainly using aircraft with a VC, probably because the pulled effect in 2D, with oval instrument guages something I don't like to look at. Is it just me or are other widescreen users doing the same, or do you get used to ...

I don't see how M$ can state on the FSX box "Works even better on the upcoming Windows Vista" and no mention of needing to wait for DX10. Trades Description Act springs to mind here. Mind you I suppose it also says "works great on windows XP" too!!

I had something similar using the Nvidia FX5200 Ultra graphics card and it would not display some 2D panels. Changed to another video card and all now works OK. Sorry it's probably not much help as an answer.

Hi Rick! Looking forward seeing your ferries in FSX - I hope you can offer them to us, I love that sort of thing!! Do we have any talented truck/bus model makers among us? Looks like Gary Russell could be busy with repaints for many years to come! OK Gary if you can you start with the Northsea Ferri...

Well, I don't need to worry about wether Rick's/David's etc. models work in FSX, because following the demo download, it appears I can't see out the VC!! My Nvidia FX5200 produces a black view out the window (and no it's not night time). So all I've got to do now is justify spending more money on a ...

FSX

With the approach of FSX imminent, does anyone know if Ricks models originally for FS2002 (ie.Vanguard/Viscount etc.) will still run in the new version? It would leave a huge gap in my flightsim experience without them.
