Re: IRIS Vulcan B.2 goes RC1!!!

ECM plates... some aircraft have 2 of them! As Chris has already elaborated it is for the ECM system, specifically it is an antenna plate for the Red Shrimp equipment. Generally speaking the Blue Steel Vulcans had a pair of them as when the fin of the Blue Steel was lowered in flight it didn't allo...

Re: IRIS Vulcan B.2 goes RC1!!!

It's a delicate balancing act with white textures, too little dirt and the whole thing looks completely flat and unrealistic, too much and as you say it looks far too grubby. Yes I dare say thats true. By the way, something I've been meaning to ask...what is that between the two starboard engines u...

Nice paint for sure but I'm not sure if that amount of dirt/crud is appropriate for a B2 Aye Dave, I'm with you on that. No Bomber Command flight sergeant would have let his charge out looking so grubby. However, with the shot below, your heart will be gladdened...I think this is probably the most ...

Recreation of the Hudson River ditching

Re: "Scrap" planes

Interesting photo on a.net, showing lots of withdrawn USAF aircraft lined up in a desert: http://www.airliners.net/photo/USA---Air/McDonnell-Douglas-F-4.../1492106/L/ Now I count 96 Phantoms, 2 F-16s and 71.5 what I think are F-5s. My question is do our armed Forces even have anything like this man...

Re: Westland Whirlwind for FSX and FS2004 now freeware

I was going to post about the very same thing, Airtrooper. Their list of freeware has expanded quite a bit recently. Not only that; more and more of their payware is being upgraded for FSX, including the Hampden. From what I read before their forums closed, the Hampden wasn't a huge success, but I l...
