Re: You know what this means, don't you?
Hi guys , a redeployed pilot mate , doing searches on Belfast bound flights ; found a bomb under the seat . They were certainly there in mid- late '70s ; indeed N. Ireland flights were a volunteer operation . For Speedbird up to late '70/80s Long Haul ( LH ) had some 5th freedom rights , and we woul...

Re: Question for Peter if I may re: Trident Flaps
Hi Peter , good to hear about you and your brill 'pooter skills . The Plogs were great , like moving maps ; but no electricity needed . The navlogs that replaced them are not a patch , but i guess by then we had TV screens with INS / GPS moving maps .

Re: Question for Peter if I may re: Trident Flaps
Nigel , Peter's got it spot on , I was one of spotty youths keenly watching his hand ! Without offending him ( he's well senior to me ) . I thought the droop had to travel up or down between 225 and 250 kts , and speed had to be held between those whilst it was traveling ; but memory is fading . Hop...

Re: Question for Peter if I may re: Trident Flaps
Nigel , thx for welcome , if memory serves . When droop went down ,if at 225 kts we were well nose up , flaps going to 15 ish would lower the nose somewhat ( in level flight ). Spent most of my youth on T1/2 s , just last year of Trid ops on T3 . Re another post ... only the Trident was nicknamed ''...

Re: Question for Peter if I may re: Trident Flaps
Hi guys , the T1, 2 and 3 Droop up between 225 and 250 kts IAS .i.e up by 250 and selecting down below 250, to be down by 225 . For the flaps 1985 was a long time ago , but you could cruise around in a T2 with flaps 15 or 20 at 170 or 180 kts . Fraid i gave the manuals to the guys setting up the old...
