As a thought, where abouts on the deck do the wheels sink? If it's near any of the spot numbers, the lifts or the 'R' on the roundown then what you're seeing is the decals for them which are a touch above the deck to avoid problems with z-buffering. The deck model itself is perfectly flat, what I'm ...

The model is actually in the Fleet Air Arm museum (I took some photos for reference) it is quite large! Obviously this means I really should have realised where the sea ensign should have been, errr but I'm a wafu so I didn't realise. Sounds like a plausible excuse to me!

You want frustrating, several years ago I had a load of copies of some modelling magazines my Dad had had in the '60s. Including a full set of plans for a County class, and the Eagle as originally built (would have been ideal for the Ark's hull) where are they now? Apparently my Mum threw them out y...

Ref the foremast, you're right that it isn't a particularly accurate rendition. This is due to a combination of not having any accurate plans for that area (I had to work from photos and it's a nightmare trying to figure out what's what) a desire to keep the poly count relatively low, and a general ...

Right, time for a quick show of hands. I have now figured out how to turn off crash detection on the model (it was an RTFM kind of thing) anyway, due to the way the ship was assembled I can turn it off for the whole ship, or just the flight deck and still have you crash into the island. As I have no...

Rich the ensign effect may be missing the texture in the effects/texture folder, it probably isn't included in the bundle as Ian couldn't get it to work, I only realised why when I visited Fraser on the weekend and played around with his. I'll see if it can be sorted out for an update some time soon...

Calypsos, ref the F4s, they were modelled using some plans I pulled off the internet, I then tweaked them to match the Iris F4 (I think, unless Alpha do one in which case it might have been theirs). However I'm willing to admit they might be bit off, I'd have to find a Phantom and a Wessex next to e...

I wonder if FS has a better vertical flight model?
Well the Strike Fighters/Wings Over Europe flight engine allows for vectoring thrust and the little puffer jets used for control in the hover, so it's pretty hard to beat. Plus you get to blow things up!
