I know its not what you mean David, but the fact that concorde was faster than it says a lot to me.... I know its not all about speed (not by a long shot) but I can't help but feel its turned into a "that will do" product, rather than a "thats an excellent" product.
IIRC the EAP used the back end and tail of a Tornado, pulled off the production line! TBH, I imagine that since EAP was a demonstrator presumably funded by BAe and HMG that the pan-European Typhoon should be a lot better given the extra funding it must have received. I prefer the appearance of the Typhoon myself (I seem to be the devil's advocate on this one) but I am fairly sure that given the performance of the engines, the flight characteristics and in this age, the avionics and weapons systems it should be a pretty good aircraft.
