Lancaster V Webcam

Post by dswanson »

Hi,

After years of peaceful rest the Lancaster was savaged by a careless child with a webcam.

Hi,

Thanks for the sympathy guys. Restoration is planned but due to its age I expect other bits to fall off in the process

As to a restore to flying condition, the last time one of my kits flew was when I was about 12 when, stuffed with paraffing soaked tissue, it was lit and flown from the bathroom window

I was young and reckless then, now just reckless .
Regards,

Degsy

Degsy, you are not alone, when I was around that age I tried the very same thing but with paint thinners, at the side of our house I was going to just burn a bit of the wing and engine to give that realistic crash landing look for my display when not only the whole aircraft (Lancaster) caught fire but so did the bl**dy fence!! Don't know to this day why I didn't just use a match on the plastic to do it instead!!

After frantically running in and out of the house with a bucket of water managed to put it out, can never understand why my parents never asked about the scorch marks!!!!! :dunno:
I used to be an optimist but with age I am now a grumpy old pessimist.
