Thank You Mr. Russell

Post by FlyTexas »

I had no idea Braniff flew any of their 1-11's in the 2-tone scheme. :$ This'll make an excellent addition to my 1-11 collection. Thanks very much. :)

Ah yes.....that old thing

Cheers Brian

There was three of them, the other two were in the green, one of them is done :)

They also kept one as a biz jet and called it Little Lrecious ....that's done too :worried:

I did a Braniff2 paint in basic Florida express livery, crudely deleted and very dirty. :cpu:

I was in Arizona, place called Evergreen Aviation, about 15 years ago.
They had several Braniff aircraft, possibly 1-11's. One brown, one dark blue.
Didn't take any pictures as not into airliners. They also had the ex airworthy Biggin Hill P38 in bits being restored.
Wonder what happened to that?

The aircraft I saw were in storage, or ready for scrappage.
I think evergreen was used as storage facility for unwanted airliners.
I'll see if I have some pictures of the facility.

OK.it will be interesting as apart from those mentioned above you are looking at 1971,2 for the end of Braniff solid colour 1-11

All the aircraft went to Allegheny
