Where does the Portsmouth scenery come from Dave? It isn't real - I know that cos I counted at least 3 RN ships and that's at least 2 too many.

That would still be more than our Navy.

Cruel but sadly, very true This said.. all the ships used are of times past (during my time which is 28yrs ago) and back then, we actually had more than half a dozen ships The scenery started life as Portsmouth Highrise (available at all decent FS sites) then Gosport was added (by the same author). They're much better than nothing at all but still sadly lacking so.. I searched online and found a great supply of 3D models at the old 3D Warehouse/Sketchup site. I converted them to FSX models using MCX and on it continued until I reached a point where I could stay in the Portsmouth area for about 5mins before getting an OOM It's better on Win7 Ult but I removed a few bits and no longer have Trevor's Portsmouth and Hamble airfields or Southampton (3DWarehouse conversions from the ground up) installed. Unfortunately, I can't upload it. It's too big for one and I'm in no position to contact every single Sketchup bod to ask permission. If ever you're at the museum at Tangmere.. you'll be able to see it there too

Thanks Dave. I just took the plunge (it wasn't that hard) and ordered treescapes and the Gen X v 3 update discs as part of that sale. I notice the update disk has the spinnaker so might make do with that.

Yes mate.. the update does have the Spinnaker Tower (its in 3D landmarks) so you'll have something to guide you along the coast.

If you fancy Trev's rendition of Portsmouth airfield.. it's at Allnodes - Portsmouth_airport_fsx.zip as are Simon Swallow's porthigh.zip (FS9 but will work in fsx) and gosphigh.zip (Gosport for fsx).
