Has Anyone Done the Mach Loop Yet?

Post by Nigel H-J »

Just took a short flight Llandbehr and whilst enjoying my flight suddenly realised that the Mach Loop route was just S.E. of my location, any-one in X Plane 11 with TE South done it yet?

Hi,

I fly a lot around Llanbedr, a lovely place to fly in north Wales and sent a number of aircraft round the Mach loop. I have another nice run from LLanbedr - Fly north over Harlech then towards the hills to the gap on the left taking you in the valley with Snowdon on the right and Porthmadog to the left. Go through the gap in the mountains to Beddgelert and over the lake heading for Caernarvon (some freeware on the castle), then turn right and go under the two Menai Straits bridges and then turn right into the valley of Bethesda take the tight left bend then head south for Blaenau Ffestiniog. Head west for the coast, then finally past Harlech and land at Llanbedr
Regards,

Degsy

I did the loop a couple of days ago, but that was in P3d with the JF Tornado with GenX scenery. :tonka:

:-O  :help:

Gordon Bennet! Just like asking the way to a place you have never been to and knowing me with my aging brain bound to take the wrong turning and get lost yet again!!

Have got to try that Degsy and should be quite simple yes? :agree:

It is quite simple but best to take it slow/small plane first time as some of the turns are tight and getting under the two bridges safely is a challenge!!! I can get a Mosquito through the bridges - keep the flaps down :) . My favourite plane for the trip is the Vixen..

Nigel,

It's easy to get under the bridges but that plane you did the Loop in may not have the power to get over the hill to get away :(

Brilliant screenshots Tony, bet you enjoyed doing that one!

Since installing Orbx TE Central I have been so busy flying around Lincolnshire, Derbyshire and up to Newcastle that I don't seem to have much time for anything else!

One thing that has struck me is when I flew across the Pennines towards and nearing Huddersfield how good the scenery looks, even up in Newcastle some of the surrounding scenery is eye catching.

Be interesting to hear from Pauls should he have Central installed to see what he has experienced from real flying perrspective to X Plane 11 flying in the same areas!

Nigel.
