Vixus, it was Algernon Lacey, not forgetting Bertie of course (Lord Bertie Lizzy)

I am currently reading my way through most of the set.

Bought a load of biggles books off eBay last month, about 25 in a box, all mint condition and some original prints from 1947 and others reprinted in the 60s.

Whole box for £12! bargain!
