Swinderby April 1975 and one of the last intakes to be issued with a 'hairy suit' :-({|= We had to wait at least 2 years before we could get a 'Thunderbirds' style No2 uniform. I can still feel those trousers itch during the long hot summer of 76!

BTW, look at the guy bottom right........they only let the cream of our youth in the RAF. He looks worse than he was however and was a trainee 'Aerospace Systems Operator', as was almost everybody on that flight. I was a 'last minute entrant' so the rest of my course (trainee A Fitt E's) went through a week ahead of me and got a weeks leave before going to Halton. I went straight there

Hmm, none of them have beards  ... back row centre?

Great airliner photos, any chance of sending me the Trident ones a little larger? We are planning a gallery at some point for the site and that sort of pic would be great if I can have your permission to use them

Drop me an e-mail via the link above Toby and I will send them as attachments, these are about 850kb in the raw, but are bigger than the free host site that I use. I can always re-scan, but that makes them HUGE!

Corporal Thomas? or is my memory going? We also had a nicer one called Corporal Lobb, I met him three years later in the Sgt's mess at Brize where he was escorting a group of Henlow cadets for some air experience trips. it took him 20 years to get three stripes and me 20 odd months. I think he deserved his more
