Orbx LOWI / Innsbruck X-Plane

Post by Charlie Bravo »

As Orbx have a sale on, I thought I'd purchase a couple more airports, although the exchange rate didn't go in my favour.

Innsbruck isn't just sold as an airport, it's a mini region in typical Orbx style and I'm rather impressed. The Rotate MD-80 has been my chariot of choice for the last few days.
Nigel - just tell Babs it's all part of your recuperation, she'll understand

I can only wish Chris! :((

Oh well, have to wait until much later.........Brilliant screenshots though Chris, have to say that the default MD80 is my favourite aircraft and has been since purchasing X-Plane 11. Just needs a few tweaks on the aerodynamics to make it better.

Regards
Nigel.

Hi CB,
great shots indeed! :agree:
It seems that you have an ultimate pc, can you tell us about it please? Are you happy with frame rate and smoothness?

Thank you mate.

I find X-Plane does have a visual advantage over FSX and P3D although I only ever used FSX.

As for my system, it's not what I'd call an ultimate PC as such but I'm very pleased with its overall performance. It is...

AMD Ryzen 5 2600X Processor
Nvidia RTX2070 Graphics card
32gb 3000Mhz DDR4 RAM
500gb SSD for Windows
2tb SSD for games including X-Plane

Frame rate wise, as with most Sims it depends on the aircraft flown and scenery used. I can happily get over 30fps over London using Orbx True Earth scenery and that is on a 2K resolution monitor.

Nigel has an Intel based system and we get very similar results across the board, although AMD Ryzen chips are cheaper.

That is true as I have an i7-900K not overclocked I have to hasten and the rest is the same as Chris, I think we are both really looking forward to the release of Vulcan which will improve the performance greatly.

Nigel.

My system works fine too even though its a Dinosaur

Asus Sabertooth X58
i7 950 Bloomfield 3.07 ghz at 3.3 ghz
32 gb of DDR3 800
GTX 1070Ti

Get a minimum of 25 fps over ORBX london City and much more elsewhere.

all sliders on max apart from Reflections on medium.

running at 1080p on a 42" led TV
