RAF Colerne!

Post by Trev Clark »

Something I had never expected to see on MSFS is the dear old MU at RAF Colerne!

Alphasim have it due for payware release soon. I have had trouble with AS scenery on my PC in the distant past, as it seems to hog FR's, not sure if the recent releases have got better?

Important Note
Please do not turn this HU's into a price rant anybody, those who fly military stuff in the UK should just be thankful that someone is bothering to fill in all the (rather quirky) gaps in FS9 and FSX.

I was stationed at Colerne from 1957-1960, not on the MU, but on the Hastings 1st line.

I well remember the many types arriving for mods to be done by the MU, among them the Black Hunters of 111 Sqdn.

Ray Sheppard has modelled a very nice Colerne from those days, for FS9 and FSX, complete with AI Hastings.

You can find Ray (Shep) over on the VFR Forums.

Dennis.

Thanks Dennis, I love the idea of AI Hastings, can you give us a more specific place to find this other Colerne please?

Indeed.. and a freeware version (I guess). Always good to have a freeware option ;-)

Thanks Paul, I have just found it (after a little searching), it looks nice, but I think it only works with VFR scenery installed.

I got rid of this from FS2004 several years ago as I got fed up with the long load times and blurry textures above 120 kts!

Designed for GenX scenery.

Just a quick update,
I've downloaded almost all of the files for FSX on this site and they are brilliant, most less than 1MB and really add to the experience. Birkdale Sands is a nice one too! :welldone:

Thanks for pointing this our DG. CHEERS
