Re: New Lancaster due next month....
I have been waiting for the A2A Lancaster and did not know about this one. That is one very, very peculiar looking 'Lancaster'. Looks as though they might have used the original 'Aircraft of the Fighting Powers' plans.
I cannot wait for a good one fror FSX - Scampton - North Sea - Lubeck - Wallop! (Actually, I prefer to swan around VFR in a 172).

Re: New Lancaster due next month....
I thought the model looked all wrong too but then was surprised how deep the cockpit it, and how slopey the nose is on a real lanc.
BTW I didn't think it was necessary to hold the tail down during engine runups, or did they just forget about the guy at the back?

Hi DTR2,
It's a shame the devs didn't see that pic you posted and they'd have seen how to try and correct the cockpit. The rear of the cockpit glazing slopes down towards the astrodome so it goes below the top of the astrodome. The model from pics available loooks like the rear of the cockpit glazing is level with the top of the astrodome. The curvature of the glazing/fuselage 'join' is all wrong too. Cockpit glazing aside, it look very nice.

Since you pointed out the dome, yes the model cockpit looks all wrong :-(.

I would hope the devs do like we do here and use hundreds of photos as reference.
There is little excuse to get a Lanc cockpit wrong

Well, so much has been said for the outside, what I want to know is what sort of "jobbie" have they done for the inside!!??

Thats not a canopy its my old greenhouse!!
Good job there are some decent ones for FS9, shame all the sub-standard stuff is for FSX
(that should get some bricks coming my way)
Been a long time since my last post and I start off being cheeky

On the subject of Lancasters have you seen the new Airfix Dambuster Lancaster complete with boucing, bouncing bomb and Mohne Dam. Looks rather nice. Or you could just build some full size mockups.
