Aeroplane Heaven, just released, glitches, service pack soon - you know the drill.

Once it's sorted out, I can't imagine not having it. A favourite aircraft of mine. :)

Hi Alex - best to just point to this thread at SOH.

http://www.sim-outhouse.com/sohforums/s ... -Released!

It looks to be a very fine model and I'll certainly be buying it once A.H. resolve the problems. I wonder, however, if it has the same short take off characteristics which came with their Chipmunk and Helldiver.

Joe ( Blanston12), I see that you have the Commando - can you comment on that?

ought it on Friday and in a quick flight it certainly bites in the turn if you do not pay attention. Will report back later today after a longer handling trip.

Nev, can you please check out the take-off run at maximum fuel and cargo weights - does it go up like a box kite ? :)

Have only flown her a couple of times but she is quite spirited off the runway. Checked the weights and by default she is about 4000 lb below MTOW but that's only about 10%, and pretty aerobatic in fact. Here are a few screenies.

Ready for take off, looks great IMHO.

Take off from Jersey, notice how high I am already.

Did I say aerobatic?

Tried a take off at AUW at I initially got 4000 fpm before settling down to somewhere between 1100 to 2000 fpm. Controls seem over sensitive and I could not get a constant rate of climb for a fixed speed. Needs some work I think!

One other thing. The engine sounds in the cockpit are very wrong. Just check any youtube video of a C46 take off.

Good grief Joe :-O :-O :-O

I never saw them do that when I watched 'Ice Pilots'.
