Hi Steve, the last time I upgraded was to i5 with 8GB Ram plus the GTX 760 along with a new motherboard some 3 - 4 years ago.

This time I will go for a new computer probably from PC Specialists as I have heard they are pretty good. My aim is to get one that has VR with it. The reason is that this would be my very last purchase. Upgrading to the spec I want would be I think, just as expensive. In other words everything taken out and the only genuine piece left would be the tower.

Presently saving up so will see what the prices are around this time next year. Really love to fly in VR so hopefully by then there will be further improvements to VR.

Regards
Nigel.

I have not gotten the new Netherlands TrueEarth yet, mainly because its 77GB in size in an area I don't fly very often. When they come out with England I probably will and Northern California defiantly will, but as they start covering the world with these I am going to need a bigger hard disk pretty soon.

Gawd!! As the Netherlands is a much smaller place than the UK, and I am only talking about the UK and not Wales or Scotland, how big will the true Earth UK actually be to install?

At the moment I have done 31 Ortho Tiles just for the UK alone and still have three more to do. Presently those 31 tiles amount to 198GB and on top of that I am using X Europe which adds another 11.3GB to my hard drive.

OK, I have a 1 TB hard Drive so will have plenty of room for the UK by my reckoning as well as Wales and Scotland but somehow and somewhere I am going to have to find space to store all these blasted tiles I did. Looks like I am going to have to compress them for storage methinks using Winzip! :worried:

Regards
Nigel.
