Prepare 3D Version 5

Post by chrispbits »

Coming to an internet near you on April 14th.

Personally I'm holding off on this one. May get it depending on reviews but with MSFS 2020 due later this year, probably not.

Filou has done an interesting video over on the general discussion forum at Orbx. It's very tempting - Prepa3d v5 could well be sitting on my PC by the end of next week. Particularly as it looks like we'll be able to keep our old favourites flying in what looks like a cracking environment.

Prepqr3d. The search for more money.

Bought all of them so far so will probably lash out again.

I'm done with P3d

XP11 is ok at the moment and will see what M$ is really like when it arrives even though they never let me beta :OB:

MSFS 2020 on the horizon, X-plane 11.5 with the Vulkan/Metal update in open beta, and now Prepared v5. Decisions, decisions

For all the touted improvements in P3Dv5, I notice there were no views of night lighting - anybody seen preview shots of it ? And still the ocean-scale waves on calm inland water, which has always been an eyesore.

I finally uninstalled P3Dv4 over the weekend, and I'll stick with X-plane until things settle a bit.

Still can't get XP to work for me so I guess the old card will take another hit ;)

:excited: :welldone:

i am definitely going to get it first day, already have the new SSD for it installed for it to live on.

Granted it's going to take a bit for all the add-ons to be compatible so for now, V4 will probably still be my go-to when i want to fly.
I have the 2020 alpha but not enough airplanes yet, and I still can't stand X-Plane so we will have to see.

Joe, we'll be interested to hear of your thoughts, and how it compares with v4. :)

I'm definitely going to get it, although I'll probably have to wait until the following weekend to actually try it out.
