I'd say that sounds likely. It would probably be possible to get the models to work, but the gauges etc are what would likely pose a problem with x86 vs x64.

I have not tried native P3D files, assuming like DaveG that MS would not support the enhancements created by LM (although it would be wonderful if they would partner up on this). The aircraft I tested had XML gauges which I would have thought would be 32/64 bit independant.
