Post by JohnWillimas »

I was about to buy this but I'm glad I watched this review. (Excuse the Tower Bridge = London Bridge goof.....).

Yes John, the consensus seems to be they’ve done a port of their existing stuff to jump on the release day bandwagon. Some of the criticism is very unfair, as nobody sits literally at the doors of Buckingham Palace in a flight sim... the key word being Flight. However, the night lighting is horrendous. They’d have been much better to wait and do it with the full SDK than rush it out to make a quick buck. It may well bite them in the arse.

I bought it already but have not played with it. But seeing that video review I am shocked, and wish I had seen it before hand because I would have skipped it because it really is a step backward.

Now it was not very expensive so I am not going to lose any sleep over it, but it's not going to be installed for long.

I like the comment:

"It's shoite!", I couldn't agree more. When payware is considerably worse than default.

Just to add a bit of balance. Here is ORB-X's comment on this, together with some with and without shots....

https://orbxsystems.com/forum/topic/198 ... t-release/

I took the plunge and bought it anyway. From 1200 feet it's an improvement over the out-of-box (better than having the Millenium Bridge under water etc....) and for £6.69 its good value, especially if they tidy things up as they claim they will.

I think the only real issue is that they shouldn’t have replaced buildings that ASOBO had already done better.

Most disappointed! Logged on to FS2020 today and Tower Bridge is failing to reflect the current situation....
