DCSWorld now includes TF-51D Mustang

Post by J0hn »

You can get DCS World for nought - it's a big download (took me all night - and a bit more) but worth it if you want a detailed terrain and two aircraft to fly around in it, for nowt more than your ISP bill.
Free TF-51D for DCS World

In addition to the free Su-25T (now with 6 DOF cockpit) for DCS World, we have also included a professional level simulation of the TF-51D. This free module shares the same realism and attention to detail as DCS: P-51D Mustang, but has several changes including inoperative weapons, removed rear fuel tank and radios, and added a jump seat.

Like DCS: P-51D, this aircraft has the most realistic flight dynamics ever available in a Mustang flight simulation and includes a fully interactive cockpit. We offer this free aircraft as a means to demonstrate the unmatched quality and realism of a DCS simulation.
The Mustang is a full-on detailed model, but you also get the Su-25T now with a "6DOF" cockpit - so a 3D VC looking great with TrackIR, but not clickable. The controls for the Rook (Frogfoot) are keyboard and joystick only.

Well worth looking at. For pacifists, the Mustang is de-fanged 0:)

DCS World download is currently 7.31GB, split into parts for ease of downloading, and also available as a torrent:

Although there are only US paints in the default model (the payware P-51D has some nice RAF ones available, though) but it won't be long before others will be available.
