A bit of a pointless exercise if you're not using FSX Eric
Yes a bit of a numpty question there Dave  Assuming that the MAAM DC3 is available for FSX, I should have asked for a comparison within that Sim! :agree: EricT
Now at the age where I know I like girls but can't remember why!

DaveB wrote:This said.. the Pegasus motif with the 24Sqn motto simply doesn't make sense and both Ted and I are wondering if someone somewhere hasn't got their proverbials in a twist by mistaking the Transport Command Griffon for the Airborne Divisions Pegasus and knowing it was 24Sqn.. added their motto! Neither of us can find photographic or written evidence to support the theory :|
Yes, Pegasus with 24 Sqdn's motto is a bit of a puzzle, isn't it. Having looked at RAF Transport Command's badge, I bet you are spot on with the confusion with Griffin and winged horse - good thinking ! :)

Ted mentioned that a members mom had worked on the aircraft and I twigged you were the member The exact detail for that paint and other Transport Command Dak's remains something of a mystery. Ted has contacted a number of organisations and we've both spent what amounts to many hours searching the web but we're no closer to a resolution now than when we started
Hi Dave, came across this site and might prove to be of interest, the C47 that was donated by General Dwight Eisenhower to General Montgomery, after the war this aircraft continued flying in civil aviation.

Hi Nige,

That lists Montgomery's personal transport as KN241 yet elsewhere, it's listed as KN628 so, far from helping.. its confused the issue further

Oh deary me, sorry about that Dave, just came across it and thought it might help but obviously it has made things ever more confusing!............. :$

Mike, if you come past this way again, the recorder I used was Bandicam. Hope that helps.

Nigel.

Yup.. been there, got that

I actually found a shot of Monty walking away from 'one of' his 'personal' aircraft and in typical form.. you couldn't see the front or the back! :wall:

Thanks Paul, still enjoying flying this aircraft to the point that I had a look at the logged engine hours and found that in 2 weeks I had run the engines for 22 hours and by the end of this week that will go up significantly.

Sadly the rest of my fleet have been slowely gathering dust in the hanger.
