"NEW" P&W 4060 Soundpacks For FS2004 And FSX

Post by Mark C »

"NEW B747-400 & B767-200/300 P&W 4060 SOUNDPACKS FOR FSX & FS2004"

P&W developed the first of the big high-bipass ratio turbofan jet engines .... in the form of the JT9D .... which entered civil aviation service at the dawning of the "Jumbo Era" during the early 1970's.

Producing almost twice as much thrust as the most powerful P&W fanjet engines on 1960's era narrow-body jetliners .... and for significantly less noise too .... big-fan engine technology influenced the development of the large civil aircraft which followed and revolutionized the worlds air transport industry.

Development of the JT9D continued throughout the 1970's and by the late 80's had evolved into the "P&W 4000" series turbofan of even superior performance .... offering additional benefits in the form of increased reliability (180 minutes ETOPS certification), longer in-service times with reduced maintenance costs, greater fuel economy, and even further reduced noise and emissions.

This advanced P&W turbofan continued evolving into a family of later marques of the same engine series throughout the 1990's .... delivering further significant gains in power, performance, and economy .... as well as increased environmental friendliness (to satisfy what was by this time becoming an increasingly cleaner, greener, and quieter aviation age) .... and has since been used on a number of large modern wide-body jetliner types and for a variety of different operational applications .... to ultimately represent almost the last word in advanced civil turbofan technology around the world today.

And now .... the distinct tones of the "P&W 4060" version of this big, modern, hi-tech turbofan jet engine .... have been faithfully reproduced for FS with unprecedented audio fidelity.

Internationally reknowned FS sound engineer Benoit PLAMONDON has done it once again .... this time releasing "P&W 4060 soundpacks for the B747 and B767" as Part 2 of his P&W specific audio project for both FSX and FS2004.

This project follows Benoit's recently released and equally superb P&W JT9D audio for the POSKY B747-100/200/300/SP and SKYSPIRIT 2010 B767-200/300 also for FSX and FS2004.

As has been the case with each of Benoit's previous FS audio releases .... this project too has been another lengthy production and one similarly compiled from only the very best interior/exterior real world recordings .... then finely-tuned for exclusive compatibility with the POSKY B747-400, B747 LCF, and SKYSPIRIT 2010 B767-200/300 "FREEWARE" simulations authored by Hiroshi IGAMI .... to provide by far the best, and most authentic, FS audio experience currently available for these particular simulations .... and to such an extent the only ingredients missing from these latest productions are probably the smell of burnt kerosene and feel of warm engine jet blast.

Each of these new "FREEWARE" soundpacks have been compiled as separate aircraft type and "FS version specific" audio productions.

These soundpacks are intended for those whom seek high-fidelity audio based on what's heard from a "flightdeck perspective" .... with equally meticulously engineered external audio added. What's heard on the flightdeck is quite different from the PAX cabin environment aboard any civil jetliner. For e.g .... when using these soundpacks one will be treated to the predominant sound of flightdeck based avionics, and wind friction noise in proportion to simulated aircraft acceleration (with very little engine sound audible during the high-altitude/high-speed cruise regime), and when selecting the flaps and landing gear one will primarily hear the "clicking" of levers and the associated wind resistance noise .... along a whole lot more audio ambiance.
