Isnt the P-3 orion the same plane as the Electra? If so, why hasnt someone taken FS-KBTs orion and painted it as a commercial plane. It shouldnt be too hard for an experienced painter, and would be nice because its a great plane.
To most people, the sky is the limit. To those who love aviation, the sky is home  anon.

The P-3 and the Electra are related, but are not the same plane. Rumour has it that there is a FS-KBT Electra in the works.Jakemaster wrote:Isnt the P-3 orion the same plane as the Electra? The Orion uses the same "Dynamic parts" but modified, of the Electra
The fuselage is completley redesigned and has nothing in common with the airliner except perhaps for a few structual componants
A glance at the nose/cockpit and the length will give it away.
It is a good deal shorter than the Electra

There is a similar relationship between the P-3 and the L-188 as between the Nimrod and the Comet, although I think the Nimrod was more heavily modified.
The model is not bad, it flys more like a stunt plane. And like most Lucariny AC there is no VC. I think I will wait for the FS-KBT Electra.

Looks like another lovely model of the Electra, although a version based on the FS-KBT Orion would be even better !
I approached the FS-KBT people via a contact in another forum and the reply I got implied that it would have been too complicated a conversion. It's a shame because I have access to a lot technical infomation on the L188 which could have been helpfull.
Incidentally the company in the UK operating the Electras (and now ATP Freighters!) is Atlantic Airlines - now a seperate company from Air Atlantique.
Regards,
Bruce
