A drop of VA pilots?

Post by DanKH »

Is it me, or has there been quite a drop in the number of active pilots for the VA?

Keys, Konny purged all pilots who had not signed in within 90 days.

Dan..

There has been a 'slack' period and as Joe says, all pilots who had not signed into FlyNET during the last 90-days were removed from the system. Some of our pilots hadn't made any flights at all but some had. No doubt they'll be surprised next time they go to login

Thanks guys, yes I saw the spring cleaning at FlyNET just about when I flew to Canada. But didn't realize that there were so many "inactive" or more proper: "lesser active" in "CBFS VA"

Also, this is coming up on Final Exams time in school, so I'm sure there are a lot of younger members studying up for their exams.

Another factor is probably FSX.

Very few developers have taken the plunge, and even though there is much talk of new or updated models, many are hanging fire to see the outcome of SP1, and posibly the DX10 update in Q4. This leaves many who have taken the FSX plunge ahead of the developers with a waining interest due to the lack of new and exciting aircraft which would usually accompany a new sim release.

You may both be right there.

I can only speak for my self, and would love to fly FlyNET in FSX, but there's only two things that hold me back:

1. The AT speed setting and
2. the manual starting procedure in the VC10.

If I could only work those two out, I'm sure all my flights would be in the VC10 in FSX. On my system FSX behaves a lot smoother and far more realistic than FS9, and that is a FS9 filled with add-ons...compared to a FSX relatively free from add-ons... don't ask me why..

I'm just happy with it.

As soon as I have solved these two issues, I will move all my RetroAI over to FSX, and remove all the modern stuff I have now, just to fill the skies with something.

And I'm sure I'll be flying a lot more FlyNET at that time....

Good thing too!!

I dunno if Konny is going to do this on a regular basis (hopefully he'll be able to stop the influx of 'bot' pilots) but it's worth noting again that you don't have to fly.. just login to FlyNET every now and again.. well, once every 90days anyway
