Blue Screen when closing fly net
Hi All
Just completed CBF2210 from EGLL to EGJJ, all went well and I was expecting 100% !!!! Anyway, after completing the flight, the flynet client box was blank, white to be exact. Waited for 10 minutes but it wasn't doing anything, so tried to close it and my PC blue screened and crashed????? Any ideas ?
Cheers

Re: Blue Screen when closing fly net
Hello Mate..
Can you remember what the BSOD said?? I have a USB Debug BSOD from time to time on my main flying pc and have found no way around it to date. Fortunately, it doesn't happen often but even so.. it's more often than I'd like. In my case.. I don't get as far as closing the flight or even landing for that matter. :-(
I couldn't put hand on heart and say that FlyNET was responsible or if it's just coincidence as most of my flying is online Perhaps one of the windows guru's can offer some assistance.

Hi, no sorry can't remember I was so peed off at the time, had a strop and shut the thing off !!!! :@ Turns out after the blue screen the pc wouldn't start up again and I had to run start up repair, all seems ok now, but nervous about flying with flynet again.
Oh well, I'll jump back in.

Re: Blue Screen when closing fly net
Well I am afraid it has done it again, the very next time I tried Flynet. I have made many flights inbetween not using fly net, some using FS Flight keeper, others using FS Passengers some using VAFS, all ok. I think I am going to have to give up fly net

Hi,
Very odd, a few questions :-
FS9 or FSX ?
Have you turned tracker off?
Have you got any add-on scenery in the area you are flying?
Does it happen at the same point/location ?
Regards
John

Hi John
FS9
Tracker, sorry not aware of this function ?
Add on scenery yes, Manchester 1970's, but not the first time it happened
Usually when parked and shut down at the end of the flight
Really odd?

Re: Blue Screen when closing fly net
Hi,
Go to C:\WINDOWS and you will find a flynet configuration file. Open it with notepad and edit tracker=1 to tracker=0 and that stops flynet phoning home whilst in flight. You could try getting a fresh download of the client and bin what you have already in case it's corrupted somehow. You could try disabling the add-on scenery to rule out if it's that or not. Folk here have had grief with add-on scenery before interfering with the flynet client. Try a short flight somewhere where you haven't got any add-on scenery and take little steps so we can try and pin down the propblem.
Regards

Hi Scott,
I see your flight got logged OK, are you saying that the flights are logging OK but after it's logged you then get the BSOD? We might need a Windows guru to step in here to help?

Re: Blue Screen when closing fly net
Hi NHF
Unfortunately.. I've had errors at Manchester using DM's 1970's airport too. I could land ok but just as I turned off.. cr@ppola I have a feeling that a rogue afcad is at fault but I couldn't afford the 'online' errors so removed DM's scenery. It's not happened since. I didn't flag the problem as it seemed to be unique to me but it looks possible that there may be two of us. Pee'd me off greatly as I got good framerates with AI maxed but there are some longhaul flights out of (and to) EGCC and I couldn't afford to take the risk.
