URGENT - FlyNET Client Upgrade - REQUIRED

Post by Chris Trott »

Due to the recent hacking of the FlyNET website & MySQL database, FlyNET administrators have been forced to change the access protocols that are used. As such, an emergency patch has been released and must be downloaded before being able to fly on FlyNET again. It can be found by clicking on the "Client" button on the left side of the main FyNET page - http://flynet.turksim.org

That is correct. We have changed the DLL file that controls access into the MySQL database on the server.

Hi Chris..

I noticed some very strange sh1t on the homepage that had gone by this evening. Fortunately.. the old client let me complete my last flight.. which I lost after 6+hrs due to an RCD trip :@ 12.5hrs in the air and very little to show for it  Will download again asap ;-) BTW.. the rubbish was up there last night (Thur BST)

Hi

At the moment there seems to be connection failure to the database.... I've upgraded the client and tried to log in, but the debug and log files indicate problems with connecting to the DB.

The experience is:

You start the Client, the UserID and PWD isn't prefilled, when inserting UserID and PWD you'll get a Login-error message.

You will probably think that you've forgotten your password, but when digging into the log-files a db-connection seem to be the culprit.

Just wanted you to know.

Dan..

It's been hacked again mate. Up to the time I looked earlier.. nothing drastic appeared to have been done, just another message on the homepage! I DO hope this person stops what he/she's up to soon :-(

I think Joe has changed something so that the current dll won't let the client connect to the database at all until they can plug the security hole. Better for no-one to be able to connect to the db through the client until it gets sorted.

That may explain why it wouldn't log my last flight or give me an upload code, internet connection was definately sound when I pulled the brake on, but it just said you upload code is: and no code :@

cheers
