Fatal Error

Post by Ant1981 »

Flew out to LMML from EGLL, had just landed, was writing my report, then FSA had to close due to experiencing a fatal error. So, my flight status is still in hangar, rather than landed :|

But, still, can do it again, but it's concerning.

Hi Ant..

What can I say other than BLX! 8) This isn't the first time we've seen this but thankfully.. it's not common. Can you post which OS and sim you're using to give us a complete record please ;)

Hi Dave,

I've got FSX with acceleration, Windows XP Pro.

I'm guessing that as it's an issue with FSA software, that there's nothing I can do but to take the flight again. Now, as I understand, it has to be flown within 24 hours of the booking, which means I'm in for a late one tonight then, as the 24 hours would expire by the time I could grab a chance tomorrow.

Not having the best of luck, took the flight again and at a moment where my eyes had glanced away, it had appeared that my computer restarted itself!

I may be able to take it later, but if I have to land within 24 hours of booking it, I'll be marked down for something I've had no control over what so ever.

Hi Ant :hello:

Sri to hear of your continued woes :( I don't know if you have tracker turned on but you could try turning it off as a precautionary measure. It will not effect your flight in any way.. it will just stop your progress being shown on the Google Earth map ;)

As you have already attempted the flight.. the 24hr period automatically resets to the time you last tried to fly so you can, in theory, keep this flight active for an indefinate period.

If the flight is crashing at the same point.. you could try re-routing. If it's not (and it doesn't sound like it is) I'm not sure what to suggest for the best. There are a couple of areas where I must have a database conflict in FS9 and re-routing has helped but I'm at a bit of a loss as far as FSX goes *-)

Hi Dave,

Well that's certainly good news that I'll still be within my 24hrs, I'll then be able to bang this out tonight then, phew.

Fingers crossed for no more issues

Cheers,

Ant

That's cool mate ;)

If you're unsure how to turn tracker off.. go to the folder where your FSA Client files are located and you'll see fsairlines.ini. Double click on that and in notepad (or whatever you use to edit ini's) find the line Tracker=. 0 is off 1 is on ;)
