Post by TSR2 »

Hi Guys.

Does anyone know how the promotion thing works in Flynet... i.e. how does one progress from Flight Officer to Captain etc. Is it baised on type?

Cheers.

It's based on time. I believe that John has control over when the promotions happen, but I'm not sure.

HI Ben

I don't think John does need to do anything.

20 or 25 flights possibly to be captain. (i think it was 20)

might be more if you use accelerated time.

Regards
Rick

That makes sence chaps. Just wasn't sure if it was relative to a particular type... i.e. if I should do all my flying in one type rather than lots of different ones.

Thanks.

Rick I meant he had control over what number of hours caused the next promotion. The promotion itself is an automatic function, but I believe that Konny gave each VA the ability to decide how many hours or miles would be required to get each promotion. If this isn't the case, then it will be as it's on Konny's "to do" list.

Hi Chris

No problem, just pointing out when mine went over to captain.

I read somewhere on the FlyNet forum that it's your number of flights multiplied by your average pilot rating percentage (so if you keep crashing you won't get promoted very fast which seems fair!) and you get promoted to the next rank up at 10 then at 25 etc.

So I need to get back in the cockpit for another flight.. ;)

I have no options for this feature, so It's a FlyNET thing.

As Rick mentioned.. I believe it's on flights (and/or) a combination of flights and performance. I have it written down somewhere but seem to remember 25 was the magic Captain number Ben

Cheers Dave.

Got a few flights to go then. Nearly in Singapore, and the Super 10 is performing well. FL320 and 320 kts fuel burn in the cruise is about 6500kg / Hr. Love landing in the 10... it feels so... substantial.
