Avro York Repaints

Post by DaveB »

Hi Guy's :)

Here are 3 of an expected 7 York repaints to enable us to operate a unique paint/reg for each aircraft. The first are ones I have reference material of (however slight) and the remainder will be variations on the theme. I don't like painting anything without reference material but in the case of the York, needs must I'm afraid. My thanks go first to Manfred Jahn who is always both quick to reply to my questions and generous in his response and secondly to Hans Hermann of Virtual Warbirds for his great work on the York, some of which has been used as a base for my work (basic registration/name changes) ;-)

2. G-AGSP 'MARLBOROUGH' BOAC MARLBOROUGH

3. G-AGSO 'MARSTON' BOAC '58 MARSTON

4. G-AGNM 'MURCHISON' BOAC. No ref material on this aircraft so painted as representative of the type early post war MURCHISON

5. G-AHFI 'SKYWAY' Skyways '46. Sadly, this aircraft crashed at Gatow in '49 - SKYWAY

6. G-ANVO Skyways '58 ANVO

7. G-AHFF Skyways '58 AHFF

I'll try and redo a couple of these when more ref material becomes available.. particularly BSAA paints ;-)
