Which airlines operated which routes...Our database

Post by Benedettini »

May I ask if you have the list that which airlines operated which routes that we use scheduled? As ours are taken from real operations I'd like to fly the routes in correct livery and ICAO code whilst on IVAO.

May I have the list for 727 If you have? and for others? that would be good info for newcomers that love flying dead-hardcore-realistic.

thank you. Turker.

Hi Gokalp :hello:

No such list exists as far as I know but if you work on the assumption the routes we have for the aircraft we have are real, an indication of the airline will be for the aircraft paints we have available.. if that makes sense. If for example you're flying a VC10 out of LHR, the registrations for those aircraft we hold and the paints that go with them are BOAC and BA by and large. The B72 you mention carries the same clues. Many if not all of our B72's have paints for Dan Dare so you can put money on it that the available routes were run by Dan Air :) The major stumbling block comes if you fly something we don't have fleet paints for :worried:

Thanks uncle! Well, I guess I found out the regs but I am now alone for other airframe's (like BAC, many airlines and many routes) route details...

I guessed so! DanAir seems to be the only British 722 operator lol!

Dan Air was the main UK operator

Sabre, Cougar and British Airways were others :)

BAW didnt use 727s, did they?
Ahh,got it. Outbound UK most routes are danair for UK-EU routes right? And sabre,baw,others...Maybe I would just pretend if its that airline's FP, as long as I pick the tailreg for that acft.

Turker. :excited:

Nice pic Garry. It's just reminded me about the 'titles' font used by Chieftain. Is it or is it not one and the same? *-)

That's an actual British Airways font and not on general release...but it does look similar *-)

Yes indeed! I've just pulled pics of both into Photoshop and there are 'some' very slight differences. Of course, it's difficult to be original in this day and age but there are enough similarities there to show that one is a derivative of the other :)

Oh yes

Of course there are a limiting number of fonts that are actually readable, add to that the style of the times and there are a few groups of many similar style with just perhaps an odd serif of the position of the dot over the 'I' telling one from another unless you look very very closely.
