As it happens.. I have a raft of bonafide C1K/K3/K4 routes somewhere. Point with the 780 was (I believe) that some of the aircraft operated with civvie crews. I've no first hand knowledge of this but that's what I remember the argument was. I really don't think (though I may be wrong) any such flights with a Pembroke/Prince/Sea Prince or whatever, were civvie manned. The same, sadly, applies to the military VC10's. It's only been in later years that you didn't have to be a SqnLdr to Captain one! Certainly no civvie crews there ;)

All this said.. never say never :cpu:

You can always fly the C1K model on civvie VA flights.. I've done that before. Flown the Nimrod on Comet flights too.. the Varsity on Viking flights.. gads.. what haven't I done??!! :worried:

They were used in civilian life, but as the President. There was only a small number and one, G-ARCN, I used to see now and then.
