Help...No ATC

Post by Nigel H-J »

 @%*@ This is getting really annoying!!

Booked flight from Manchester to Amsterdam refuelled then found out that ATC does not work!!!

Went to the ATC menu and tried to select pilot voice but just shows a blank menu where pilot 1 pilot 2 etc used to be.

Have now cancelled flight as may have to re-install, if that's the case then I'm going to be off VA for some time due to other commitments and will be reinstalling as and when I can!!

Does any-one have any ideas before I have to take that option?

Regards Nigel.

Sri mate but as I never use ATC, I can't help you there

Don't worry about cancelling the flight. Just remember to pop your head into FlyNET every now and again to ensure your status remains active

Thanks Dave, may well put in the various CDs' of FS9 and try to locate ATC from there, only problem is, where does it go in FS9?

Hi Nigel..

I know that atc.dll resides in the root modules folder but as for the rest, I really don't know. My dll should be virginal as I don't tamper with that sort of thing so I can upload my copy if you like??

EDIT.. I've uploaded my here Nige.. ATCDLL

Hi Dave

Unfortunately it did not work, still getting a blank box on the select pilots' voice, will have to look a bit further on this one but may well have to re-install.

Dag nab it

Ah well.. sometimes you have to try the easy things first. Hopefully.. one of the other guys with at least a modicum of ATC knowledge will pop in and drag you out of the mire

Thanks Dave, always nice to know that help is at hand here.......even though some things don't quite work out in the way you hope it would.

Well, looks like a re-install over the week-end is becoming more of a reality now

Try these first:

http://flyawaysimulation.com/postt964.html

http://www.editvoicepack.com/readme.html#ToC37

http://www.flightsim.com/cgi/kds?$=main ... voices.htm

http://www.flightsim.com/cgi/kds?$=main ... csetup.htm

http://support.microsoft.com/default.as ... -us;177252

http://support.microsoft.com/default.as ... -us;315118

http://support.microsoft.com/?scid=kb;en-us;812394

But I would start to check if you still have your USEnglishBig.gvp or USEnglishASOS.gvp file in your sounds folder. Also there is a possibility if you're using EditVoicePack ....

And before reinstalling it all try to rename the fs9.cfg file to fs9.cfg.bak, that would force FS to build a new config file and see if that helps. If it does you can always do a compare on the two files to reinsert your tweaks.

Good luck and don't miss this one:
