Nicosia

Flew a Merchantman out to Athens, thinking it would just be a return trip next.

To my dismay I discovered the only place I could take a Merchantman from there was to Nicosia, well FSX doesn't have Nicosia and I have never found any scenery for it either.

Never mind, Google Earth gave me the position so off I went and just "landed" on the generic scenery where I reckoned the airport ought to be.

Seems to have worked as I didn't get a wrong airfield landing penalty and FSA client seemed to accept that I was in the right place for the trip back to LHR from there ;)

There is a moral to this story and I'm sure you know it

You didn't get a penalty because Nicosia is in the FSA database so as long as you weren't too far from it.. you'd be ok. We added Nicosia to the database years ago ;) There IS a Nicosia available though it was made for FS9. It may even be linked from here. TobyV knocked it up for us.. specifically for us to fly to. I'll have a look to see if it's in one of the links here ;)

The link here is dead but Toby uploaded it to Flightsim.com too.. Nicosia.zip

I did an FSX version too, although it was just a stock building, but has the runways and taxiways if its any use to you, I can upload it. It also works in P3D... Basic, but functional :)

Thanks for that Ben. I'd a feeling there was another but the mists of time are getting thicker.. like me

All you need is somewhere to put down and this will do very nicely

Is it as simple as copying the LCNC Nicosia folder in to the generic FSX scenery folder?

Bens file is as simple as dragging it into Addon Scenery (in FSX) then activating in the Add/Remove scenery window. There are no textures although a texture folder is included. Some setups like to see a texture sub-folder even if it's empty ;)
