where would i find a site that has downloadable navigation airport charts freeware. so that i can practise navigation without using the fsgps all the time.

And as far as routes go - if you wish to fly realworld airways - There
will be (hopefully and with Johns blessing) a download file at
http://classicbritishfiles.com shortly where you can pick up flight plans
for the VA's route structure - they will be available for FSNAv, FsBuild
and also in plain word so they can be loaded in.

thanks for the reply. it would only be the airport charts required, saves time to have a chart infront of me with flight levels and nav codes. i hate to stop the flight to look in the map to get the ils signal codes for landing. i'll have a look at what you linked to .
