A question for you?? If you fly longhaul at say x4.. are you still credited with the real hours?? Something I've been meaning to ask for a while and finally got round to it!

From what I have seen they award does not look at the real hours, it looks at the flight hours and divides it by the max time rate. So if you spend 30 minutes at x1 and 3.5 flight hours at 8x they count it as 30 minutes total.

I don't like it either.

Looking at one of the categories, 124190 miles could have only been acheived by flying at X16 as it does'nt reflect in hours flown, Hmmmmm :think:

p.s. How did we (cbfs) do compared with the other VA's?

Thanks for that Joe.. I suspected as much :roll: Needless to say, I don't care for it much either as every last minute of my hours shown are real hours/minutes. I believe there is some trade-off in income earned for the VA if you fly x1 (eg.. its reduced if you fly at a higher rate) but it does make a mockery of all the 'high hour - long range' figures. What's a jet jockey going to do if he gets a 'forced error' at x4/x8 e t c?? A bit of a joke me thinks!

I must confess to flying at x4 some of the time, but this has only been where I have started a flight and had to go out, and with out using accelerated time i would have been able to finish. Most of my long hauls are x1, but i have used the AP and set my alarm to come and check periodically.
