Isle of wight

Hi

Does anyone remember a freeware scenery for the isle of wight that came as part of a VFR autogen add on?
This is all I could find but none of the links work! :dunno:
http://www.visualflight.info/projects/uk-vfr-library
It was freeware.

I have got a new computer and it's like moving house! Actually with FSX it's like moving planets!!

I remember thinking the IOW scenery was brill but I haven't saved the install zip (only got it on an old F2004 install)
(theres a backup morale there somewhere)

Does anyone know where to download the IOW scenery so i can do a fresh install and tips on getting it to work in FsX? :help:
(rather not pick it out from FS2004 and carry any old rubbish files across)

I am sure someone out there has this and has got it working.
I never saw it running properly because the computer BHP so low!

Hope you guys can point me on soon

Rob

Hi Robs and welcome :hello:

I didn't use this for exactly the same reason you didn't first time round. 8) I may have downloaded it but where the heck it might be now is open to negotiation. Hopefully.. there are folk out there more organised than us (and more useful than the vfr website!) who will have it to hand ;)

I tried it yonks ago when it first came out but found it to heavy on the FPS.

The scenery library for it is available on flightsim.com (ukvfr.zip) but I can't find the IOW scenery anywhere. :dunno:

A quick google found some forum threads about installing in FSX, but that's not a lot of good if you can't find it to start with

Can you remember what it was called mate?? I may still have it loafing around on an old pc. Am I getting my wires crossed or does IoW_demo sound like it? I seem to remember an IoW demo but that may well have been the video advertising it :dunno: *-)

"UKVFRIsleOfWight Demo" I believe (according to a mention on another forum).

So maybe UKVFRIsleOfWight.exe or UKVFRIsleOfWightDemo.exe or another combination.

If it's the one I'm thinking about I once had it but on installing it there was a lot of messing about with the files to get it in - eventually made it and was very good apart from the frame rates so decided to removed it. Can't remember if I kept it and if I did where I put it. :wall:

Regards
Nigel.

Hi Nige..

You may be right.. that rings large bells. I've scanned my external drive which has important stuff from my XP1600/XP2400 and XP3200 and I can't find it there which would lead me to think I binned it too. The old VFR stuff used to be a b1oody nightmare to install. If you wanted a particular set, you'd download it and find instructions saying you needed file 'Y' too so you download that and find you then need file 'X'. I gave up

EDIT..
A thought.. George (GHD) may know where it can be had if it's still available. I'm sure he'll find this thread at some point in the not too distant :)

I do have a pre-release copy but as I don't run FS9 I am not sure what state it is in. You can download it from:
