NEW MONITOR???

Post by Buggyman »

I'm seriously considering upgrading my present Philips 19 inch LCD monitor for a 22 or even 24 inch unit. There is nothing wrong with my current monitor, it will go over to Mrs B and her screen will go into 'reserve'.

So, before I go out and spend all that money I saved over Christmas does anyone have any advice or personal experiences thay want to pass on? My PC is a running a Duo Core Intel 6600 @ 2.4GHz and a GeForce 8800 GTS and 2 GB of RAM.

Any advice or guidance will be gratefully received.

I thought that we had a recent discussion on the pros and cons of two smaller monitors versus a large monitor, and another discussion about wide screen versus normal screen.

But I can't find it now!

Perhaps someone else knows if I am having delusions

It was I.....that raised the point in another thread recently. Now after reading everyone's comments on the subject I'm sticking with my 17" CRT.

I think the general consensus on wide screen is they are good if you want to run FS on about 2 thirds the width and have the other for nav, documeant or what ever normall clutters up the screen etc.

Just for normal operations I think my 19 inches is big enough..... :doho: ooeeer missus :$

You know what I mean

Obviously Garry and ianhind have taken advantage of those 'special' offers that I keep getting in my mail - nicie to know the treatment works!

I knew the topic had been covered before but could I find it? Thanks Martin for the steer.

Despite everything I'm still tempted to go up in size, especially having just seen a neighbours 22 inch screen. I will just have to get into town and see what PC Wolrd has so I can see what I want before buying (not necessarily from PC World).
