Anyone got one of these???
Downloaded the latest SP to AS16 and thought I'd give it a run 'up north' to see what it looked like. Caught an odd looking ground texture in the distance so headed for it..
I don't really fly much 'middle England' and the weather isn't usually this good so it might have been there for a while. Mighty odd!
That's GenXv2 with v3 updates btw.

Yep, I know what that is. It's a bug from the MAIW Lakenheath photo background.

It's quite a way from Lakenheath isn't it. Took me ages to track down what was causing it.
As for a fix, no, I haven't found one yet. It's the "EGUL_Image.bgl" that has the problem. You can disable it, and you'll be left with the standard GenX background if you like, but editing photoscenery backgrounds is beyond me.
I intended to post over at MAIW about it, but never got around to it.

OK Dave.. thanks. I will avert my eyes whenever possible
I've not long had Lakenheath installed and would never have guessed this anomaly was due to that. As you say.. it's bloody miles away Wonder if our George has it

Re: Anyone got one of these???
If I open the bgl in TMFViewer I see this:
The actual photo background on the right and the offending red blob on the left. Looks like some sort of misplaced mask.
Can I nick your screenshot Dave, and post it over at MAIW?

Completely unrelated Dave, but whats that mapping tool... and does it work in P3D?

Going OT in typical CBFS fashion, I'm not sure what that is Dave uses, but have you tried "Little Navmap"?
Works fine with FSX & P3dv4. Shows AI aircraft (and ships! ) and it's free.

Sri Dave.. just been flying in the 146 and as you know.. nothing happens fast in one of those
Yes mate.. please do
Ben.. that's FSCommander v8.3. Can't say I care for it much but it's better at taking a look at where you're going than the default MAP. Newest version is v9.x and it costs around £30 I think. Had v8 since I've had FSX and pretty much hated it
Will take a look at that freebie
