CCCleaner - beware!
It seems some versions of cc cleaner were compromised by hackers earlier this year. Use with caution. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/technology-41306387

I've often wondered how you tell virus checkers are not covert hacker tools in disguise.
Re: CCCleaner - beware!
I have the Windows version and just updated from 5.33 to 5.34. Thanks for posting that link Ben!

Thanks very much for that, Ben. Just checked - I'm still on version 3.10.1525.
Re: CCCleaner - beware!
Thanks Ben, I am currently on version 5.34.6207 so think I should be OK though not sure what my previous CCCLeaner was.

A great article on the CCleaner hack! Leo Notenboom publishes a weekly newsletter on using technology. Full of tips and how to fix problems, Leo's background was as a Microsoft engineer.

Lots of good information and the bottom line is:
"Most of all, I'm not recommending that you abandon CCleaner. It remains a good and useful tool."
