Aerobask have released their Robin DR401 as freeware for XP11

Woah! Together with the Lancair Legacy, this'll make for hours of GA fun.

Now if there only was a freeware GA aircraft with retractable gear...

I know I stated that I was sceptical about third party add-ons but I think that is because in the past with FSX I had some glitches after trying out some add-ons.
Well, the scenery add-ons are only as accurate as the source data and as bug free as the people who check that everything looks at it's supposed to.

Yet, I've managed to find two of the many houses that I lived in so far, all without orthophotos.
So that's a vote of confidence for X-Europe 2 and HD Mesh v4.

Flew the Aerobask Robin and what a delightful little aircraft this is.

Good find Bjoern.

Not my find, Nigel.

In other news: Managed to get some seasonal variety working (not for the faint hearted though).

Blimey, £36 for X-Plane! That's a steal.

Last night I removed the HD Mesh. Whilst my frame rates were ok, I wanted to get better performance, especially when flying the IXEG 737 which is fairly resource hungry.
The frame rate is substantially better so I'll see how I feel as I fly as to whether I want the HD Mesh back or not.

I've still got X-Europe 2 installed so the overall look of the landscape is still ok.

The joys of flying on a laptop!
A bird in the hand will probably sh!t on your wrist.
