Classic British Flight Sim

Chris is offering card which uses 2x6pin power.
I bought a couple of 2nd hand ASUS Direct CUII cards, each with 2 monitor connection sockets.
I have 2x6pin power, but these beasts need 1x6pin and 1x8pin each.
Does anyone know how to alter my outfit to suit these, please?
I think if even one of them works, it would give my system a boost.

I've ordered one from interstate.

I was looking at one of then discovered two spare pins so effectively a six and an eight. Mike, it's worth checking for that spare pair.

I did previously look for a spare two, Brian, but no luck.

Just be careful you get the correct adapter for the additional power input on the graphics card not the very similar, but different Yellow/Black pin orientation on the atx power adapter for the mother board additional power supply . Ask me how I know

This is what I've ordered. I see that it DOES have black and yellow wires.

Hi Mike No that looks fine However I found I needed a similar 8 pin connector to change a 6 pin atx power plug to an 8 pin socket on the new motherboard I had a spare pci cable ( the type you need for the additional power supply on a graphics card) It fitted ok but the motherboard wouldnt boot On investigating the yellow /black cables run to different pins depending if its a pci or atx type I ordered the correct cable and all was fine
I guess it didn't fry because the power supply was being held off as it sensed a wrong polarity

Dale, I'm glad that it wasn't as dramatic as I had imagined.
I've also discovered that the ASUS Direct CUII is a generic name for numerous configurations.
I know that those I bought are 10.7" long, but this does not precisely identify the specs. In fact, I can't find one of that length with the number of ports that mine have. It'll be interesting to see what happens when that cable arrives.

Here's the outcome:
Cable arrived, and due to shape, can't be fitted incorrectly.
First of the 2 cards left me with a black screen.
Second card fired up in very low res.
Downloaded driver using W7 search.
Works fine.
Turns out to be an AMD Radeon HD6900 series with 2048Mb, compared to my NVidia 560GTX with 1024Mb.
Ran FSX. Took ages to load, speed and quality no better than the "old" NVidia card.
Read an article about the HD6900, and it was rated as not better than the NVidia 570, despite its size and memory.
Just as well the two Direct CUII only cost me $5 the pair.
Conclusion: doubling the video card memory does not necessarily improve performance.
