Headset query

Post by Airspeed »

Bought a Logitec gaming pro headset.
The headphones work fine.
I am having trouble getting decent response from the microphone.
In Realtek audio control, cranked mic. volume to 100%, boosted mic. by the maximum 30db.
Still hardly registers on the sound level indicator, and playback of voice recording is quiet at max replay volume.
Any ideas, please, my good fellows?

Try opening the sound control panel in windows to check mic levels.

They're the same as Realtek settings, Nev, just double-checked. Thanks. ;)
btw, supplier says boost should not be needed.
I don't have a separate sound card, it's all part of the motherboard; I wonder if some component has gone wonky.

EDIT 15:47 Ordered on line Creative Sound Blaster Audigy Rx Sound Card. I'll plug the headset into that, and see if it's better. If nothing else, you get a bundled editor with it. Might be able to eliminate those annoying clicks every few seconds when cruising in FSX. I've missed the editor software since I got this kit 9 years ago.
