Odd E address

Post by Filonian »

I do not know if this is the right forum or not, but here goes.

I sent an E-mail to a friend, who when he tried to use auto reply, the message failed to send due to a spurious E addy that has suddenly appeared from out of the blue.

xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxATheinekin; (@)

Another friend who is on the Kingston System had the same trouble and was then blocked from going on line, until on the advice from his ISP, he removed the unsent mail from his out-box.

I have done a search of my HD with no results. Just sent more E's and just for daft, typed x in the addy bar and the iffy E addy popped up. Clicking properties, I got the new contact box with "General" sahowing the iffy addy in the display box and the E-mail addy box greyed out. Everything else greyed out. The "Home" & "Business" pages are all greyed out.

Has anyone got any ideas please, as if I have somehow picked up a dead nasty, I do not want to pass it on to anyone else.

I am running AVG Anti-Virus & Zone Alarm Pro.
