HS 748 VC texture problem

Post by charleeskywalker »

Hello all, I do a little search but I cannot find the answer, so I decided to create a new topic. Could you please help me with this problem:

Image

There is a problem with the texture over gauges...is it any known bug? As I think I didn´t have this problems when I first run the plane...now, after running ezca config, it happens. But I ahve to say I am really not sure as I only try once to load the plane..only for a moment.

Thank you in advance for any tips ;)

Yes, this is a known issue for ages (since it went into FSX).

I say "issue" - actually it isn't really, as it's an FS9 model.

Anyway - you'll find it's connected to the lighting.

Hi Charlee :)

The only sure way to get rid of it in FSX is to not turn the lights on I'm afraid. As JD said.. it's an FS9 model and needless to say, this doesn't happen in FS9. To eliminate it, the model would have to be recompiled and I'm not sure the source files still exist :(

Actually, I think there may be a work around *-) I'll have to experiment and see if it works.
Stay tuned...

Fingers crossed Dave. There are a few others out there with the same prob (thinking Iris/DSB Harrier) so if it works for one.. it may work for another. If it doesn't.. thanks for trying anyway

I'm afraid my idea didn't work. Well, it did, but there's a side effect with the external textures turning semi-transparent :wall:

OK, here's the file:

http://daveg.cbfsim.org/files/envmap.zip

Unzip & copy the envmap.bmp into each of the HS748 texture folders. It's basically a dummy file to fool FSX into not using the reflection map.
DO NOT copy it into the main FSX texture folder or you'll mess up reflections for all other aircraft etc.
There may well be other unwanted side effects, so no guarantees are given, use at your own risk. ;)
