Has the tide turned? FSX or FS9?
I thought as things were quiet here, it would be a good time to see what percentage of our members fly their British classics in FS9, or has FSX finally taken over?
This is not a post to re-run the arguments as to why and where for, just a quick snapshot to see the current state of play, halfway through the life of FSX.
If it turns into the usual (impossible to settle) argument, I will delete the thread. :o :o

Hi Trev
Needs a box for love to try it but can't afford to upgrade to it...in others words stuck with FS.9 not by choice.

I've had FSX for a couple of weeks now and love it! Not many add-ons as yet. I'm keeping FS9 for multiplayer flying and when I fancy blatting around in one of the many aircraft I have installed that won't work in FSX. I can see my FS9 gathering dust before too long though.

I've tried the FSX demo, really like it and have the spare cash. BUT I love 9 Dragons and Dave Maltby's aircraft
So until I get bored with them, there's not a lot of point in buying it. I'm with you FSX guys in spirit, but carry on without me for the time being. Don't worry about me, I'm having fun!

Re: Has the tide turned? FSX or FS9?
I have both and rarely used FS9 after I put on FSX. That is until recently when I started to fly FS9 online with the guys here although most of those guys have now moved over to FSX.
I almost deleted FS9 from my drive a few months ago but since Shockwave brought out their 3D lights for FS9 I still need it for beta-testing new developments so I guess I will be running both for a while yet although by choice I go for FSX for my 'fun' flying.

I fly both but FS9 is still my favourite and I probably do 80% of my flying in FS9. FSX will eventually take over - but not for a long time.

I have no intention at all to run FSX on my new PC. I upgraded just to keep the older software. I'm still happy with it and just dont see the point of changing to the newer version.

I too have both installed and tend to use FSX more than FS9.......Took a long time to try FSX as I was sure it would be a slideshow but with both SP1 and SP2 now installed the performance is very acceptable and suits me very well. As some of my favourite aircraft are FS9 only, I know that I will be keeping both versions installed for the forseeable future.

I am sticking with Fs9.
I have so many addons ASv6.5, FSNav, scenery and acft etc. that I just do not see a good reason to buy something that I just do not need at present.
